Kate qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1999 and has worked in small animal, first opinion practice gaining experience in all aspects of clinical practice, nurse consults and supporting student veterinary nurses. Kate then discovered her passion for education and training and started teaching animal management in a further education college before then progressing on to teaching and assessing on Level 2 and Level 3 veterinary nursing courses. Kate completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 2012, followed by further qualifications in internal quality assurance. Kate has since gained her R-SQP (Registered Animal Medicines Advisor) qualification and has a keen interest in preventative health care and the welfare of animals.
When Kate’s not teaching, she is part of the vetting in team at GCCF cat shows helping to ensure that the cats are fully vaccinated and healthy. She has two Ragdoll cats of her own called Esther and Darwin and a Hungarian Vizsla called Wellington.
