An apprenticeship is a paid role where the employee learns and gains valuable experience and training which leads to a nationally recognised qualification. The apprentices spend at least 6 hours per week of their working hours completing off the job training in the workplace.

The age you can start an apprenticeship is 16yrs, there is no upper age limit for an apprenticeship.
Yes we take on apprentices if you already have a placement with an employer who is offering this in the workplace.
Apprenticeships cover lots of qualifications.
We offer the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and the Level 2 Veterinary Care Assistant as part of our Apprenticeship courses.

The primary role of the Clinical Supervisor/Assessor is to assess SVN’s performance and related knowledge in a range of tasks (RCVS day one skills) and to ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meets the required standards and learning objectives.
This is a training practice that has been approved the full facilities to train Student Veterinary Nurses, an Auxiliary Training Practice (aTP) does not have the full facilities, and will need a secondment to another Training Practice to gain the practical skills in this area for example, theatre practice. If you have any questions regarding Training Practice or would like us to approve your practice, please contact us.

You can pay for the apprenticeship through the apprenticeship service if you are a levy payer or you can reserve apprenticeship funding if you do not pay into the levy and are a small business owner.

As an employer you would need to employ the apprentice on a contract for 30hrs a week or more, have the resources and support to train the apprentice, including training staff and equipment.
CVTC may use subcontractors to deliver some areas of the apprenticeship that is a non veterinary topic area to provide expert qualified provision.
CVTC currently use subcontracting for functional skills maths and English tutorage, It is a funding requirement that all apprentices achieve a level 1 Maths and English functional skills qualification if they are not already qualified at the level or above.
